The Panhandle Trail is West Virginia's first interstate trail, connecting Weirton, WV to Carnegie, PA, near Pittsburgh. When finished, the Panhandle Trail also will connect to the to a complex of trails, starting with the Montour Trail, that extends to Washinton, DC, via the C&O Canal National Historical Park.

West Virginia's part of the Panhandle Trail is about 4 miles long, with one trail access point, in Weirton on Harmon Creek Road. [Trailhead Directions] The trail opening celebration was held at Collier, about two miles east of Weirton.

The West Virginia portion of the Panhandle Trail will be managed by the City of Weirton.
